Stiletto nails resemble other pointy, long-style staple stiletto heels. So what are stiletto nails exactly? They're nails that have been filed, or cut to create the point of a thin, smooth surface. A large number of Internet nail enthusiasts sport coffin, almond (ballerina), or similarly pointed nails, and refer to them as stiletto nails but aren't. In actual fact, (and I speak from my own experience in this instance) when the nail technician for stiletto nails don't be shocked if she asks whether you're certain, and instead suggests an oval or almond shape.
